Trial proceeds of US price-fixing ring

THE price-fixing trial of top executives at US agribusiness Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) is proceeding.

Four other companies in the $600-million-a-year market for lysine, an amino acid which is added to animal feed, have already pleaded guilty to the charge.

The jury is waiting to hear the evidence of a “mole” within the ADM company, who was planted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
