Twose finds new owner
Twose finds new owner
By Andy Collings
TWOSE of Tiverton, which went into administration in August, has now been acquired by Alamo Group (Europe) for an undisclosed, but what is said to be a substantial cash sum.
The addition of Twose to Alamo brings yet another line of hedge trimmers and grass cutters to a company which already has the likes of McConnel and Bomford under its belt.
And that is not to ignore the Econ hedge and verge mower business recently brought on board, and the similar outputs from companies such as Rhino, SMA and Dabekausen.
Alamo says Twose will continue to market and supply its tractor-mounted hedge and grass cutters and other implements, although manufacture is likely to move from Tiverton to the McConnel/Bomford base at Evesham.
The Tiverton premises are to be used for marketing, design and engineering development. This will lead to reduction in labour requirements, says Alamo.
• Twose origins date back to the 1830s when it was originally established to manufacture agricultural machinery. *
