UK professor accused of cooking OP research
AN academic has been accused of fiddling research linking chronic fatigue syndrome to organo-phosphate (OP) poisoning.
Peter Behan is alleged to have used false data in his study. The allegation has been made at a trial in the High Court in London where William Tonkin Limited, a Peterborough farming company, is being sued by a former farmhand who was exposed to the OP insecticide Actellic D.
Up to 70 other cases claiming compensation for OP poisoning by insecticides or sheep dip are awaiting the outcome of the case.
