Upgrades turn Optimo into Splendimo

LELY has upgraded its Optimo range of mounted mower and conditioner models and renamed them the Splendimo range.

Main changes are to found in the cutter bed which is now thinner and wider to allow the cutting discs to operate nearer the ground. The discs themselves have been redesigned to cope with heavier crops, providing, says the maker, greater crop lift. Other changes include use of a hexagonal drive shaft for the discs, rather than a square shaft, and the discs now incorporate nut protectors to ease replacement after longer periods of use.

More generally, Lely reports that the mowers have received detailed strengthening with the use of thicker walled box section throughout and the introduction of collars and grease points on ram pivot pins and breakaway safety points.

Model sizes range from 2.05m to 3.20m with prices starting at £3445. &#42
