USA needs WTO, says Barshefsky

US trade representative Charlene Barshefsky has said continued US participation in the World Trade Organisation was “critical” for sustained US economic growth.

Her comments come as the administration submitted a report to Congress summarising five years of US membership.

Congress now has 90 days to vote to US withdrawal from the WTO.
