Vets feel the pinch as costs are cut

THE British Veterinary Association (BVA) is to stage a conference in March to look at ways of improving vets businesses.

The BVA admits its members have been hit by farmers cutting animal health and welfare bills.

A survey carried out by the BVA showed that demand for vets in the UK exceeded supply.

There are currently 18,300 registered vets but this is expected to rise to 23,000 in the next ten years.
