Walker pleads the case for pigs and dairy
JIM Walker, National Farmers Union of Scotland president, pleaded the case for pigs and dairy when he met representatives of Scotlands leading banks.
The banks assured Walker of their continuing support for the agricultural sector and made it clear they were taking a long-term view, said Mr Walker.
Particular concern was expressed for people in tenanted farms who were having to borrow against stock values which were being continually undermined.
