Weighing seeds a piece of cake…

GRAHAM & White Instruments, based at St Albans, Herts, has developed a digital weighing unit designed for the precise calibration of seed drills.

Named the Weighmate Handy Scale, the unit is suitable for weighing fine seeds such as rape, kale, carrots, turnips and grass to a measuring range of 10g to 5kg.

The weighing unit is equipped with a digital display panel which indicates the weight of the seed in 5g graduations.

The company claims the instrument can be operated simply by pressing an "on" button, without the need to make electrical or mechanical adjustments. Available in higher capacity models up to 50kg, the unit is priced at £43 (01727-861110).
