Wet feed prize

A WET feed system for outdoor pigs took the top prize in this years new equipment awards at the fair.

Preston-based outdoor producer Dermot Beary linked up with Pipeline Feeds, also of Preston, to manufacture the system which comprises a mobile generator, mixers and up to 4500m of flexible pipes to pump mixed feed into troughs in paddocks.

The pipelines can be cleaned automatically using compressed air which overcomes the problem of pipes freezing in winter.n
