What a difference a Mosaic makes
barley mosaic virus trials at two locations – one infected with BaYMV (Barley Yellow Mosaic Virus) and one infected with BaMMV (Barley Mild Mosaic Virus) – show dramatic differences in yield response. Compared to the site mean yield, some of the resistant varieties gave yields of +139% whereas susceptible varieties were as low as 54%. Such results demonstrate the importance of growers determining whether they have Barley Mosaic Virus infected land, says ARC.n
