Whitchurch Group sells catering arm

MEAT products supplier Whitchurch Group has sold its catering operations.

Hamard Two Thousand will buy Acacia Foodservice and Acacia Horbury Meat Services from Whitchurch for £1.02 million in cash.

Whitchurch said lower market prices had reduced its turnover to £16.8m in the six months to 30 June, from £20.4m last time. The companys pre-tax profits rose 68% to £859,000.
