Wool board cuts its cloth
THE British Wool Marketing Board is to undergo a radical shake-up of its activities which will see savings made of £100,000 in its operations.
The 16-strong board will be cut to 11 members in a move which will involve the loss of one board member each for Scotland and England.
The number of regional committee members in Scotland will drop to 28 from 45.
The final approval for the reform depends on the votes of the UKs 80,000 wool producers.
Objections from at least 500 producers would mean a formal poll would need to be organised.
