Zetor tractors supply hold-ups being dealt with

SUPPLY problems suffered by Zetor tractors could now be on the way to being resolved.
Andrew Martin, managing director of Zetor importer Motokov UK, says the past few months have seen a significant improvement in tractor availability. This follows the appointment by the Czech government of a Revitalisation Agency to sort out Zetors affairs.
The increased supply, says Mr Martin, means his company is now in a position to supply most Zetor models from stock.
Last year, production of the Czech-built Zetor tractors was forced to stop while it awaited a re-financing package which called for a cash injection of about £11m. It now seems the companys financial problems have been settled – in the short term at least. Courts and creditors have, it is reported, now approved debt settlements.
But there is still the search for a new investor in Zetor which will hopefully see its future assured.
Mr Martin believes the end of this year could see a company selected – there are apparently three interested parties vying to make the required investment. Just who these parties are remains undisclosed.
lZetor has one factory in the Czech Republic and another in neighbouring Slovenia and had capacity to produce more than 15,000 units a year. *
