1. Promoter
The promoter of this prize draw is SylgenBio (Sylgen Animal Health Limited), PO Box 78, Llandysul SA44 9AB. Registered Office: 3 Kitsmead Lane, Longcross, Chertsey, Surrey, England KT16 0EF.
2. Prize
There are five (5) prizes available to be won. Each prize consists of a Soil Health MOT package valued at approximately £1,250.
One winner will be selected each month for five consecutive months commencing June 2026.
The prize is non-transferable, non-exchangeable and no cash alternative will be offered.
3. Eligibility
This prize draw is open to UK residents aged 18 years or over who are actively working within the UK agricultural industry and operating a dairy farm business within the UK. Farms in Northern Ireland or in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland and other very remote farms will be given instructions for taking soil samples themselves but all sample pots and packaging along with pre-paid postal labels will be supplied.
Employees of SylgenBio, Terrafarmer, and MA Agriculture Ltd, Mark Allen Group companies, and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
4. Entry Requirements
To enter, entrants must complete the official online entry form available via:
All entries must answer the simple question “Why do you want to win a Soil MOT?”, and include:
- Full name
- Farm/business address
- Telephone number
- Email address
Only one entry per farm/business is permitted unless otherwise stated.
5. Prize Draw Process
A winner will be selected at random each month from all eligible entries received up to the applicable monthly closing date.
Entrants who are not selected in a monthly draw will automatically remain eligible and be entered into subsequent monthly draws until either:
- They win a prize; or
- The competition closes.
The overall competition closing date is 31 October 2026.
6. Winner Notification
Winners will be contacted using the details supplied on entry.
If a winner cannot be contacted within 14 days, or declines the prize, the promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winner.
7. Marketing & Content Consent
By entering the prize draw, entrants agree that:
- SylgenBio and Terrafarmer can use their details for the purposes of the competition;
- Representatives of the sponsors may visit the winner’s farm to conduct the Soil Health MOT;
- Photography, video and other media content may be captured during the process.
Entrants acknowledge that resulting content may be used by the promoter and sponsors across:
- social media;
- websites;
- email marketing;
- print publications; and
- other promotional materials.
Content may include:
- the entrant’s name;
- farm imagery;
- video footage; and
- approximate farm location.
Where possible, content will be shared with the participating farmer prior to publication, and reasonable amendment requests may be considered if submitted within the requested timeframe.
Winners also agree to potential follow-up visits or communications at the point results/advice are delivered and approximately one year later for case study and promotional purposes.
8. Publicity
Acceptance of the prize constitutes permission for the promoter and sponsors to use the winner’s name, farm details, photographs and video footage for editorial, marketing and publicity purposes without additional compensation.
9. Data Protection
Personal data supplied during the course of this promotion will be processed in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation.
10. Liability
Farmers Weekly shall not be responsible for issues with the entrants’ network or equipment:
- lost, delayed or incomplete entries;
- network, server or computer hardware/software failures; or
- any other issue which may prevent participation in the competition.

11. General
By entering the prize draw, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
The promoter reserves the right to amend, suspend or withdraw the competition at any time where necessary due to circumstances outside its reasonable control.
