NATURAL INSECTICIDE, BugOil, might be used by growers to control insects in a wide range of protected and field crops, hopes Plant Impact director David Marks.

Containing essential oils encapsulated in vegetable oils, it uses the insecticidal properties of oils such as thyme and lavender.

“It works as well as leading standard insecticides in trials, is very safe and has a very good environmental profile,” says Mr Marks. Plant Impact is looking for a partner to help develop BugOil.
