Cereals 2010: Win £3000 in wheat bale competition
Win a packet: There is up to £5000 in prize money for best wheat bale sculpture in 2010. Weetabix and the NFU have joined forces to give 10 regional prizes of £2000 and an overall prize of £3000.
Last year, Paul Grant, a farmer from Boston, Lincolnshire, took home the top prize with his Manny the mammoth and family sculpture. Other artistic endeavours included a lion, Noah’s Ark, teddy bear, tractor and trailer made from wheat bales.
“What better way to demonstrate our sustained commitment to British farmers and show consumers where their breakfast cereal comes from,” says Weetabix marketing director Sally Abbott.
All wheat used in weetabix is sourced in Britain and 90% comes from farms within a 50-mile radius of its Northamptonshire factory.
