Colossus disappoints in Norfolk

Having harvested 200ha of winter barley in Norfolk, results were “nothing spectacular”, said Cliff Armsby.

Pearl cut at 6.25t/ha, which he said was “about average and all we ever do.”

He was “very disappointed” with the 7.5t/ha yield of Colossus. He expected the yields to be much higher, and it was a “very poor weight”.

He added: “The biggest fault this year is that the price is not good again.”

But he said the wheat yields “could be good” and the crops “all look well”.
