Cereals exhibitor 2009

Potato supplier Branston is using Cereals to show its range of environmentally-friendly pest and disease controls, including hot mustard mixes Curegro and Fumigro, both of which can be used for natural fumigation of the soil before prior to planting.

A number of brassica and radish mixes with biofumigant potential are also being grown on the trial plot.

Visitors can also see trap crop Foil-sis, which helps combat potato cyst nematode and root-knot nematode. There’s also a live demonstration of Branston’s slug control, Nemaslug Xtra.

Some exclusive potato varieties are also being exhibited, including gourmet salad Juliette and the crisper Sassy. New varieties from other breeding companies include the white pre-pack / baker varieties Saphire and Lanorma.
