Spring drilling is all go
Jim Scarratt, farm manager of 1,090ha in Norfolk, is making the most of the spring sunshine, kickstarting the 2022 sugar beet drilling campaign in ideal conditions.
#beet22 finally made a start today. Ideal conditions so far. Will need a better price for 2023 to keep it in the rotation, let’s hope we get it. @BritishSugar have made an increased offer for 22/23 but it will need a significant increase to continue for the 23/24 season. pic.twitter.com/7m0sx8I9bk

Boycefield Farm in Herefordshire was busy spreading composted farmyard manure on to its crop of Mascani winter oats, beginning the farm’s journey to a regenerative agricultural system.
Composted FYM getting spread at 12m into winter oats here today. Field is in its 4th year zero-till so the tractor and spreader are barely leaving a mark. pic.twitter.com/hkPNyr4sML
