FW Awards 2009: Last chance to enter

The closing date for the 2009 Farmers Weekly Awards is now just days away – but it is not too late to enter.  You’ve got until 30 April to get your entry in or to make any nominations.

Are you a producer who works hard, is innovative and is committed to the future of agriculture?

Or do you know someone in the farming industry who impresses you when you think about the way they run their business?

If you do, it sounds like the sort of person we want to see shortlisted for the 2009 Farmers Weekly Awards.

The awards aim to showcase the best farmers in the country. Farmers Weekly together with its industry sponsors want British farmers to get the recognition they deserve.

We feel that by telling their stories we can spread best practice, inspire others and influence the public about the role that farmers play in today’s society.

On a day-to-day basis farming can be a tough job where there is little feedback about how people are doing. The awards are a chance to celebrate all is good about farming and give individuals the chance to shine.

Put modesty aside and put in an entry yourself. If you are running an efficient business that has adapted to the challenges of the market and the policy framework farmers are asked to live with then we want to hear from you.

Even if you don’t want to enter yourself we also need your help in order to help find the best of the best. We want to know who you believe are the top farmers in the UK – whether it is for their technical expertise or the way they are meeting the demands of today’s consumers and the environmental agenda.

If you don’t nominate the people who you think should be a winner, they could miss out. Don’t let that happen.
