Growers urged to complete CPMP
GROWERS WHO have not yet completed a Crop Protection Management Plan (CPMP) are being urged to do so to supplement their Entry Level Scheme applications.
“With ELS now central to the farming and growing industries, a CPMP makes sound business sense,” said the National Farmers Union pesticides advisor, Neil Kift.
As well as providing a useful overview of all spraying activities, the new 2005-7 form allows growers for the first time to compare spraying programmes over the next two years, he said.
The 3,600 farmers and growers who have already completed one part of the 2004-6 forms should carry on as before, he advised.
Updated CPMP forms for 2005-7 are now available from the Voluntary Initiative website, www.voluntaryinitiative.org.uk, or by emailing cpmp@nfu.org.uk
