Latest kit and tractors fired-up for Cereals 2008

There is an impressive line-up of machinery, sprayers and tractors scheduled for the 2008 Cereals event, offering anyone in the market for some new kit the perfect shop window.

There will be 10ha of working machinery demonstrations and a line up of over 40 trailed, mounted and self-propelled sprayers from over 20 manufacturers being put through their paces in the Sprays and Sprayers arena.

Visitors will be able to compare power, productivity and performance of tractors, cultivators, drills and subsoilers. Also, many exhibitors will be demonstrating GPS and vehicle guidance systems.

Working tractor demos
Tractors in action in the working demo arena include:

  1. John Deere’s lightweight 180 hp 7530 tractor equipped with fully integrated AutoTrac guidance with pass-to-pass accuracy down to 2cm
  2. John Deere’s 325 hp 8530 equipped with i-TEC Pro, an enhancement to AutoTrac
  3. The Massey Ferguson MF8480 tractor available up to a maximum of 315 hp with a constantly variable, totally stepless transmission and demonstration of Massey Ferguson’s Autoguide system
  4. The New Holland T7000 running with IntelliSteer, the fully-integrated guidance solution which uses an RTK correction signal to benefit from sub-inch accuracy

Cultivation demonstrations
Cultivation equipment being demonstrated includes the new Dowdeswell 155 Series 8-furrow plough, the Lynx Alpego Crackers cultivator and the Lynx Streamline D 3m working width front press.

Also being demonstrated will be Quivogne’s Pluto designed for medium horsepower tractors of 150hp and the Tinemaster disc harrows suitable for 200hp plus.

Cousins of Emneth will have their Patriot cultivator on demonstration, which the company says has a combination of cultivation elements including loosening tines, two rows of individually mounted discs and the rear mounted Razor Ring ™ packer.

Willow Farm Machinery will have equipment from SMS of the Czech Republic in the demo area, the Finisher, designed for creating stale seedbeds directly after harvest and the HKL short leg soil loosener designed as a primary cultivator to go through the soil at speed and at depths of 18 to 25 cm.

Soilessentials will be demonstrating the new-to the UK Leica MoJoRTK auto-steer, which is inch-accurate and priced at a show special of ÂŁ8,000. This RTK device is also developed with in-built mobile internet link-up which ensures that the latest software updates can be done on the move without the need of a technician visit.
