New formulation for barley fungicide

Barley fungicide cyprodinil has been approved in a new liquid formulation, Syngenta has announced.

Approved for use in both winter and spring barley, Kayak would control a range of diseases, including net blotch, mildew and eyespot, but was particularly useful against rhynchosporium, the firm’s Matt Pickard said.

“It provides a significant step forward in control over the previous formulation, and importantly, offers an alternative mode of action to triazole fungicides for resistance management.”

Kayak contains 300g/litre of cyprodinil.
