Northants Winner yields below 04

Harvest was going well for Mark Swinson on Rectory Farm, Northamptonshire, until a week ago when the weather broke.

Forty hectares of Winner oilseed rape yielded between 4 and 5t/ha which was not as good as last year, he said.

Having waited for weeks for the Round-up (glyphosate) to be ready on the oilseed rape, now it was ready but the weather had stopped any cutting.

Canberra and Castille varieties were also ready to be cut as soon as the rain stopped.
