OSR still not good in Cambs

Harvest was going very slowly for Oliver Walston at Thriplow Farms in Cambridgeshire.

The 10% of Winner and Tequila oilseed rape cut yielded 2.8t/ha. After last year’s “appalling” yields of 2.4t/ha, this year was still not good.

This was the first year in 15 that Mr Walston had been unable to fulfill the wheat contract because it was too wet to provide it.

He said things were “a long way behind normal” with the rape still very green, when it should have been finished by now.
