Proline and Fandango fungicides approved for use in oats

Widely-used Bayer CropScience fungicides Proline (prothioconazole) and Fandango (prothioconazole + fluoxastrobin) have been approved for use in oats.

Both offer excellent disease activity against crown rust, mildew and eyespot, according to product manager Alison Daniels.

But it is the greening effects growers will really notice, she says. “Trials have shown that Fandango applied at 1.25 litres/ha has resulted in green leaf area scores of close to 90%.

“Fluoxastrobin has a broad disease spectrum in its own right while complementing the profile of prothioconazole. The mixture results in prolonged green leaf area by combining the traditional strob effects with the unique greening activity of prothioconazole.”
