Rapeseed a week away at Gosmere Farm

Crops are looking well at Bill Harbour’s Gosmere Farm, Sheldwich, Kent, but oilseed rape is still a week away from ripening.

“Some rape in the area is only just ready for roundup – it’s been hanging on amazingly well.”

Mr Harbour desiccated his rapeseed on 9 July, and expected to start combining next week.

“There has been some winter barley and rape cut in the area. All the crops look fine, although the wheat could have done with a bit more rain.”
