Rebrand launch for Chemtura AgroSolutions
Seed treatment specialist Chemtura Crop Protection has been renamed Chemtura AgroSolutions, to reflect its long -term strategy of providing crop protection solutions to growers and distributors.
The company’s new identity and structure will allow it to focus on initiatives and investments that support new product formulations and applications, giving it an even stronger position in its traditional high value crop markets.
With headquarters in Lawrenceville, Georgia and a workforce of 496 people worldwide, Chemtura AgroSolutions will continue to produce innovative, cost-effective products and services which meet the ever-changing needs of the agricultural industry.
In addition, a state-of-the-art Technology Development Centre will be opened in the U.S.A in the next 12 months. With deep roots in agriculture and over 100 years of experience in the crop protection market, Chemtura AgroSolutions was previously known as the Crompton Corporation and Uniroyal Chemical.
Best regarded in the UK for its leading seed treatment products, including Rancona®15 ME, Anchor®, Thiraflo® and Floman®, the company also supplies acaricides, fungicides, herbicides, insecticides and PGRs on a global basis.
According to UK sales manager Iwan Jenkins, the launch of Chemtura AgroSolutions represents an exciting time for both the company and its customers. “This is the start of many new product formulations and applications, developed in conjunction with our customers and business partners, to give them the solutions they need to take their businesses forward.
“In the meantime, it will be business as usual. Our seed treatments, including the novel ipconazole-based Rancona range, will be marketed through our extensive network of distributors and seed companies, while development work will continue on the next generation of products.
“Furthermore, our engineering specialists will carry on with their work in seed plants, helping our customers to get the most from application equipment.” Mr Jenkins adds that the company will also work on label extensions to existing products, backed up with technical expertise and service.
“All of the products and solutions we bring to the market are formulated to enhance crop quality and increase yields, while having crop safety and application benefits,” he says. “That won’t change – the growing need to feed the increasing world population and meet environmental concerns is accelerating our efforts.”
The first company to launch a seed treatment based on micro-emulsion formulation technology, Chemtura AgroSolutions has ambitious plans for further seed treatment introductions. With a UK-based sales and technical team, as well as research and development facilities in Worcestershire, the company’s commitment to the seed industry has been revitalised by its new structure.
