Egg found masquerading as a potato?

The previous morsel from the Feathered Forager celebrated the joys of unusually shaped and sized eggs.

Just to prove that you can’t get too much of a good thing, here is a new offering sent in by poultry keeper Mark Shepherd. Apparently it was laid by a Goldline hen (with a very stretchy vent) and weighed in at 172 grams with a 9 inch girth.

The Forager reckons it looks suspiciously like a potato, but Mr Shepherd insists it is “100% egg”.

And, because it’s Friday, here’s a little video we uncovered. The concept of “an egg within an egg” is not entirely new, but the incredulous reaction of this geezer seems to put it on a par with the second coming of Christ!
