Arla sets December price rise for AFMP suppliers
Dairy co-operative Arla has today announced a 1p/litre price increase for its Arla Foods Milk Partnership (AFMP) producers.
From 10 December onwards, producers in this direct supply group, will receive 30.5p/litre for their milk.
A spokesperson for the company said: “We are committed to supporting our farmers and the price increase comes at a time when we appreciate that our farmer members are under pressure.”
Today’s announcement comes after news on Monday this week (19 November) that Arla Milk Link members will receive a 1.33p/litre milk price increase from 3 December; this will bring the standard litre price for these producers up to 28.83p/litre.
This week’s announcements by Arla follow on from a move last week by Müller Dairy and Robert Wiseman Dairies – producers will get a phased 1.5p/litre milk price increase to 30.5p/litre between 1 December and 1 February. From 1 December the standard milk price will increase by 0.5p/litre to 29.5p/litre and a further 1p/litre increase to 30.5p/litre will be in place from 1 February 2013.
