On Friday 31 January, the UK left the EU and embarked on a transitional period which ends on 31 December 2020.

We have the greatest advantage: to sweep away the EU’s bureaucratic Common Agricultural Policy and move towards a fairer system which rewards our hard-working farmers.

The Government has pledged to provide the same cash total in funds for farm support until the end of this Parliament.

This applies to all farm support and covers the whole country.

Farmers Weekly has partnered with Defra to give you information about funding in 2020 and beyond.

Listen to our funding podcast below with Elen Shepard, Deputy Director – Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), Defra.

She discusses current funding schemes in England, including new opportunities for the farming sector.
