Early day motion support increases
Eighty-six MPs have thrown their weight behind an Early Day Motion tabled by Conservative MP Geoffrey Clifton-Brown.
The motion says it supports Farmers Weekly’s Local Food is Miles Better campaign and that buying locally grown food reconnects consumers and farmers, can help the environment, boost the economy and support British farming.
It calls for supermarkets to promote, stock and label locally produced food to cut food miles and support local producers.
You can encourage your MP to support the motion by contacting them directly.
