Farm Energy Event cancelled

The 2012 Farm Energy Event, which was due to take place on Tuesday 4 December, has been cancelled.

The uncertainty of future government support for alternative energy schemes had led to a poor response from potential exhibitors, said Andrew Newbold from event organiser FarmSmart. Many of them are seeking more clarity before committing to marketing ventures, he added.

However, while the event will not go ahead in 2012, FarmSmart says it remains convinced this is an area of strong interest among farmers.

“We will continue to liaise closely with existing and potential exhibitors with a view to organising an event during the autumn of 2013. With energy costs continuing to rise, there is no doubt this will remain an important topic for many farm businesses, which are often well-suited to local generation from renewable sources,” said Mr Newbold.
