Keen competition at auction sales

Demand is high for all types of and sizes of agricultural land, said Bagshaws’ Bakewell office following its recent auction.

This saw nine lots of farmland and woodland sold with a block of almost 20 acres of grassland at Smalldale near Buxton, making £179,000, equivalent to £8,985/acre.

Small parcels made up to £12,955/acre while just over 30 acres of arable and woodland at Brimington reached £150,000 or £4,897/acre.

The strong interest in amenity woodland continues, with two small parcels totalling just 0.6 acres at Middleton by Youlgreave selling for £7,000.
