Five-year tenancy available on Cumbria stock farm

A five-year farm business tenancy is available on a mixed livestock rearing farm in Cumbria, starting on 12 May.

Stoney Head Hall Farm at Sunbiggin, near Penrith, has about 139 acres (56.2ha) of Grade 4 grassland, consisting of permanent pasture and meadow land.

It is described by agents H&H Land and Property as “a sound livestock farm that is more than adequately equipped for its size with a range of modern farm buildings”.

The majority of the property is in a ring-fenced block around the main farm steading.

The farm buildings are modern and include a four-bay concrete silage pit with a western and eastern lean to, a steel portal-famed building with five-bay steel portal-framed lean to, a detached lambing shed, mono-pitched three-bay steel-framed building, external sheep handling pens and a lofted traditional farm building.

There is also a four-bedroomed farmhouse with annex.

The land has previously been farmed by the owner with the exception of the previous grass let term. The land has been vacant of stock since October last year.

The landlord is looking for a tenant who will farm and maintain the land/buildings well, as if it were his or her own.  

Prospective tenants should ideally tender with projected budgets/cash flow showing that their chosen farming system for Stoney Head Hall is viable.
