Milk price rise takes Sainsbury’s suppliers to 30.66p/litre
Sainsbury’s standard litre farmgate milk price will rise by 0.1p/litre to 30.66p/litre from 1 October for producers in the retailer’s Dairy Development Group.
These 324 producers are paid on a model that incorporates animal welfare and environmental standards and thath reviews feed, fuel and fertiliser costs every three months.
Other milk buyers have increased producer prices over the past couple of weeks, including Dairy Crest, Tesco and First Milk.
