Mixed farmland for sale in Hampshire and Shropshire

Two large farms are for sale offering opportunities for arable growers and farmers with mixed enterprises.

With a £6m guide price, Wield Wood, near Alresford, Hampshire, has 138 acres of Grade 3 arable land, 70 acres of grassland and 150 acres of woodland.

The farm is currently let under two farm business tenancies – one to a local farmer and one to a game-breeding company – but could be back in-hand by harvest 2017.

The farm’s buildings need improvement, but income could be derived from the maturing woodland. Three dwellings are included. (Strutt & Parker 020 7629 7282)

A 337-acre mixed Shropshire farm with grain storage, three cottages and a farmhouse is for sale at a guide price of £3.3m as a whole, or in four lots.

Lower Down Farm, near Bishops Castle, has about 178 acres currently cropped to winter cereals as well as some pasture.

The principal farmstead – currently let on an Agricultural Holdings Act tenancy expiring in March 2016 – has 300t of on-floor grain storage, modern cattle housing and traditional buildings.

The farmhouse and one of the cottages are in need of modernisation and repair.
