Moorland leasing as owners look to boost returns

Grouse moor leasing opportunities are rising as owners look for ways to increase their stock of birds and boost a moor’s value.
The Invercauld Estate on Royal Deeside is currently offering 38,000 acres, including three grouse moors, on a long-term agreement. The moors offer 11 days’ driven grouse shooting, with a 10-year average bag of 450 brace for Sluigan and Home Beat moors and 238 brace for Corndavon.
The estate has attracted strong private and commercial interest, said William Duckworth-Chad of Savills’ Country Department.
