New business services launched for co-ops

Farmer-owned businesses in England will be able to exploit a new range of services on offer from English Farming and Food Partnerships.

The 12 new services are aimed at covering all aspects of the collaborative sector, from starting up a new business to influencing government and managing risk.

“Running a professional FCB requires the same skills and approach as running and investor-led company,” said Jeremy Pope, chairman of EFFP.

“It is vital that those in charge of collaborative businesses recognise this and develop their business and people accordingly.”

Called ‘Making collaboration work’, the services have been 18 months in the making, and some may be available free of charge.
