Partnership aims to help wind turbine budgeting

Wind turbine manufacturer Endurance Wind Power has joined forces with the Met Office to provide a wind speed assessment service.

The partnership will allow the firm’s UK customers to access the Met Office’s Virtual MetMast site-specific, hub height wind prediction tool to help select the best site and more accurately predict the energy production from their new turbine.

“Our technology provides site-specific wind analysis of long-term wind speed and direction, as well as analysis of turbulence intensity, wind shear and extreme gusting statistics, all of which are critical to maximizing turbine efficiency and performance,” said Met Office senior wind energy consultant Stephen Norman.
