SFP form count starts to rise

THE FLOW of completed single farm payment applications is starting to pick up but there are just five days to go until the deadline.

The Rural Payments Agency said by Wednesday lunchtime (May 11) it had logged just over 54,000 forms.

But it has pointed out that thousands more are still outstanding.

The situation is similar in Wales where less than half of the forms that have been sent out to farmers have been returned.

The final deadline for forms to be returned, without penalty, is May 16.
