Shepton Mallet Dairy Show postponed

The Dairy Show, organised by the Royal Bath and West of England Society and due to be held on Wednesday 3 October, has been postponed until 30 January. The organisers felt in light of the worsening foot-and-mouth situation over the weekend it was not sensible to hold an event attended by so many farmers.

Jane Guise, chief executive of the Royal Bath and West of England Society told Farmers Weekly the committee felt it was better to postpone now rather than wait any longer. “We looked at moving it to November, but overall felt January was better as it gave us more chance of having a successful event.”
