SW England options brighten gloom of autum slowdown

LAUNCHES ACROSS most of the UK are slowing down as winter approaches, but buyers looking in the south-west have various new options.

In Wilts, Humberts and Strutt & Parker have joined forces to sell Bremhill Field Farm, near Calne. The 207-acre mixed unit includes a six-bedroom stone house and its topography provides the basis for a good shoot. The farm is priced at 1.6m.

Also in Wilts, Woolley & Wallis is selling 87-acre Inlands Farm near Pewsey for 595,000. The soil is Grade 1 greensand and there is consent for a three-bed, agriculturally tied house. “It is suitable for arable, vegetable and livestock farming, as well as appealing to the equestrian market,” said the firm’s Richard Nocton.

Further West, Stags” Alex Rew has launched an 89-acre former Devon dairy unit. Lower Bridge Farm, Lapford, out of milk two years ago, is being sold in seven lots for 1.1m. The thatched six-bedroom farmhouse is priced at 550,000.
