Swedish firm Alo already bosses a fair chunk of the front loader and attachment market with its ownership of the Trima and Quicke brands.

But with the loader tractor market pretty well sewn up in many countries, the company has set its sights on telehandler attachments as it aims to become a one-stop shop for all tractor and loader attachments.

With that in mind it has signed a deal with British maker Albutt that will see it sell the Tewkesbury firm’s attachments under its own Original Implements banner.

The company also used the Grassland show to launch its new Top Grip bale handler, which is designed to shift round and square bales without causing any damage to the wrap.

To do that it pulls the bale against the back frame to tease it away from the stack before the dipper arm falls behind the bale using its own weight, rather than any hydraulic force. A hole-and-pin arrangement means it can be adjusted to suit different bale sizes.

The Top Grip is built in Alo’s Chinese factory and costs £1,225.
