Spreadwise has introduced a handheld slurry application monitor which keeps the operator updated with details of application rate, forward speed, flow rate and average flow rate.

Based on a the new Nexus 7 handheld monitor, the slurry applicator needs to be fitted with a flow meter and a GPS speed sensing system, both of which feed information to a central unit.

This, in turn, transmits the information by Bluetooth to the handheld monitor, where a programme makes the appropriate calculations and delivers the results to the monitor’s screen. Price for the handheld unit and software is £1,100.
