Charity clay pigeon shoot raises more than £50,000

Warwickshire-based property agency Newton LDP raised more than £50,000 at its annual charity clay shoot at the Shuckburgh Estate on Thursday 8 May.
The event raised funds for the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution and Cancer Research.
Now in its fourth year, the event saw over 180 shooters and more than 220 attendees gather on the Warwickshire-Northamptonshire border.
More than £41,000 was donated to the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (Rabi).
A further £9,000 was raised for Cancer Research in memory of land development professional Tim Parfitt, who worked in the industry for nearly 40 years.

“The support from across the land, property and farming communities continues to be phenomenal.”
The shoot was delivered by Honesberie Shooting, with lunch provided by Flying Pig Catering. There was also a raffle and live auction.
A keynote speech was delivered by farm safety campaigner James Chapman, who shared his experience of life-changing injury and the vital help he received from Rabi.
Emily Millington, the institution’s national fundraising manager, said: “These funds will allow us to keep making a positive impact on farming communities across England and Wales.”
Next year’s shoot is scheduled for Thursday 14 May.
