FW Photo Competition returns for 2026 with seasonal twist
© Ruth Davies FW‘s photo competition is now open, this year with a brand new category, Christmas on the farm, adding a festive note to our annual celebration of rural life.
Our competition showcases the sights, stories and everyday moments that make British agriculture unique throughout the year.
From lambing-time sunrises to harvest action, we’re looking for photographs that capture farming and rural life at its very best.

And this year your images of twinkling tractors, festive livestock and glorious winter scenes inject a little seasonal sparkle to the mix.
Amateur photographers have until 11.59pm on Friday, 20 November to submit their pictures to the Landscapes, Livestock, Machinery, People, Wildlife, Young photographer (16 or under), and Christmas on the farm online galleries.
Whether you’ve snapped dramatic landscapes, memorable moments with stock, machinery in action, hard-working rural folk or wildlife encounters, we want to see the countryside through your lens.
You can enter as many images as you like across one or multiple categories, so whether you’re heading out with a camera or trawling your phone’s photo library, now is the time to get involved.
Previous competition winners, published photographers and those who have sold the occasional image are still eligible to enter.

However, professional photographers are excluded, and all photographs must have been taken by the entrant.
The best image and two highly commended photographs in each category will be published in the bumper Christmas edition of Farmers Weekly on 18 December.
Then, in January, we’ll reveal the overall winner and two runners-up, who will share a £500 prize fund.
Simply head to our galleries to upload your images.
