Harvest photo competition entries just keep on coming

Entries are pouring in for this year’s Farmers Weekly Harvest Photo Competition, with more than 350 stunning shots already uploaded to our gallery – and counting!

There’s still time to get involved. Don’t miss your chance to win a truly unique prize – the opportunity to see your photograph featured on the front cover of Farmers Weekly.

We’re looking for your most eye-catching images of this year’s harvest – whether it’s golden fields, powerful machinery in action, or the fruits of a season’s hard work.

The winner and runners-up will be showcased in the 26 September 2025 issue of the magazine, but only one lucky photographer will land the coveted front cover spot.

Winners will also be revealed across our social media channels, so keep an eye out.

The deadline to enter is Monday 1 September 2025, so grab your camera, head to the field, and share your best shots with us.

This photo, titled “It’s going well,” was captured by Harry Whymark on 12 July, showing off the barley harvest framed against streams of sunlight with a warming orange hue.

Captured in this moody aerial shot is Jonathan Roper and Annabel Coller as they cracked on with the winter barley harvest in Stalham, Norfolk.

As the Red Arrows gave a colourful display, Mat Stratford captured the winter wheat harvest on 17 July. “Yield could be better, but at least it’s coming off dry,” he said.

Charlotte Jenkin snapped this beautiful rainbow shining over a Massey Ferguson 7254 combine, bringing in the winter barley harvest in Cornwall.

A harvest isn’t a harvest without a trusty canine companion. Alex Jasinski sent in this image of his main harvest helper, while cutting Bamford winter wheat at 8.4t/ha in Lincolnshire.

The team has been busy cutting winter linseed at Chickney Hall Farm, Essex. Peter Fedor sent in this great image of the crop, describing yields as “pretty good for such a dry year”.

Katie Walter snapped a dramatic sky on the first day of harvest with the sun peeking into view. The crop of Canyon winter barley came off at 13% moisture and a pleasing 9t/ha.

How to enter

  • Uploading your pictures is quick and easy. Just go online to our Harvest Gallery 2025 and follow the instructions.
  • The competition is open to all amateur photographers, and the photo must be your own work and taken this year
  • There is no limit to the number of entries you can submit
  • Don’t forget to add a short description telling us where the photo was taken and what it shows
  • The higher the resolution, the better (ideally 300dpi and a minimum file size of 2MB)
  • Please consider the winning image will need to be square in shape (or cropped to a square) to appear on Farmers Weekly’s front cover
