Photo of the Week: Bale art shines a light on Nuffield 2025

This week’s Photo of the Week shows the fantastic bale art of Dr Jenna Ross, promoting this year’s Nuffield Farming Conference, which takes place in Aberdeen.

The photo also features a Nuffield 460 tractor, owned by Hamish Bruce, and was taken on Craskins Farm, The MacRobert Trust estate.

Jenna is an OBE, no less, which she received for her contribution to agriculture and science.

She is Nuffield’s conference committee chairman and was herself a Nuffield scholar, having won a scholarship to the programme in 2017.

Jenna grew up on the family farm in Aberdeenshire, which is now in its fifth generation. She is keen to get everyone involved in the conference.

“Whether you’re part of the Nuffield network already, thinking about applying, or simply curious about the big ideas shaping food and farming, the Nuffield Conference is open to everyone,” she says.

“It’s a rare opportunity to meet and learn from people who are not just thinking about the future, but out there shaping it.”

You can upload your farm photos to our Farmlife Framed gallery or enter them in our annual photo competition, which is open until 21 November.
