Photo of the Week: Dolly and Annie make winning team
This week’s Photo of the Week features Dolly McNamara, aged eight, winning first prize in the young handler contest at the Essex Young Farmers Show with her Limousin cow Annie.
Dolly is a veteran pony shower, despite her young age, but this was her first time showing cattle.
Mum Verity took the photo and says of Dolly: “I am incredibly proud of her passion for the animals and the future of farming.
“Dolly already enjoys teaching her twin baby brothers how to care for the animals.”

Dolly is looking forward to participating in more shows this summer and has been practising at home with stockman Gregg Bull.
She also keeps her own chickens and ducks. In the future, she hopes to carry on the family farm, Reevesgate Farm in Waltham Abbey, Essex, and eventually become a vet.
The mixed beef and arable farm was started by Dolly’s great-grandfather, John Musk, who still lives on-site.
The farm is currently now run by her grandfather, Philip, who established the Limousin herd in 1993.
It’s a real family affair, with Dolly’s aunt, Mollie Sibthorpe, also involved with the herd and running a livery yard from the farm.
We wish Dolly the best of luck with her future showing and her farming career.
